Scan Data

When you run a scan, we collect the URL of the website being scanned, scan configuration settings, and the results of the scan, including identified issues and screenshots of the scanned pages. This data is stored securely and is only accessible to you and anyone you explicitly share reports with.

Important: What We Do NOT Collect

We want to be completely clear about what HowsMyApp does not collect:

• We do not collect source code. HowsMyApp tests your website as a browser would — it loads pages, interacts with elements, and observes behavior. We never access your source code, server-side code, or internal files.
• We do not collect passwords. Our scanner does not attempt to log in to your website or capture credentials. Scans are performed without authentication unless you explicitly configure authenticated scan settings.
• We do not modify websites. HowsMyApp performs read-only testing. We never alter content, submit forms with real data, or make changes to your website.
• Scans are read-only. Our technology loads pages, identifies elements, tests interactions, and records results — exactly as a human visitor would browse your site.

Usage Analytics

We collect usage data to understand how the platform is used and to improve the product. This includes page views, feature usage, scan duration, and error rates. For visitors who are not signed in, this data is not tied to an identity. For signed-in users, some analytics events may be associated with your account so we can understand and support your usage. We do not sell this data, and analytics are only loaded after you consent.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, which provides robust security infrastructure. Screenshots and scan artifacts are stored in secure cloud storage with restricted access.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Scan data is retained indefinitely unless you delete it. You can delete individual scans or your entire account at any time, which will remove associated data from our systems.

Third-Party Services

HowsMyApp uses the following third-party services: Supabase (authentication and database), cloud storage providers (screenshots and artifacts), and website analytics. Each service has its own privacy practices, and data shared with these services is limited to what is necessary for platform operation.
